New Poll Says Finding a Rental is Harder Than Finding a Job

If you've not been paying attention the real estate market has taken the craziness of the past 2.5 years for new construction and re-sales and now simply shifted it to the rental market.  In a recent survey taken by real estate giant Zillow® with over 2,000 respondents nationwide, the growing consensus was it's harder to find a place to rent than it was to find a job!  What has happened is not that surprising, especially to those that watched in disbelief as potential Buyers went to almost any lengths possible to outbid one another as record low inventory plagued the market.  That ship has sailed, and while inventory remains low the effect of rapidly escalating interest rates has caused a return to normalcy, at least as it pertains to the buying process.  So we're left with all of those people who got left out and were not able to buy coupled with new entries into the rental market and the same shortage of rental inventory that was experienced for Buyers.  So what's happening as a result?  Pretty much the same things as before; multiple offers to rent, folks trying to outbid one another and artificially raising rents, waiver of many requirements, essentially a carbon copy of what many of them just experienced while trying to buy.  Just like it was then it remains now, rental units are in short supply, so everyone is looking for the same thing all over again.  Without suggesting you change the "what" you're searching for, but we might suggest a change of the "how" you search as part of your plan.  We created PropertyGuerilla.com to let renters and buyers post their needs to a wide audience and get direct and discrete responses from anyone who might be able to provide a solution.  In real estate, communication always was and will always be the key, so our suggestion is quite simply to change that part of the equation and be pro-active and instead of waiting to react if and when inventory hits the market, post your needs in a discrete Want to Rent (WTR) on our site and create the chance to literally find off-market or privately listed inventory that wasn't there before.  Sometimes the best opportunity is the one no one else knows about!  #realestate #zillow #rental #rentalinventory #rentalsurvey #propertyguerilla #wanttorent #wtr #realestaterental
