Privacy and Control Belong in the Hands of the Many and Not the Few

When we created PropertyGuerilla.com one of our primary drivers was to allow users to determine for themselves how to manage their online correspondence and contact information as it pertains to real estate.  In real estate, the information sought to build a database is the ultimate prize, and it is the primary objective of every real estate website, App, social media page, Realtor®, Agent, and just about anyone or any business in the industry.  The way it's obtained has changed over the years to include length registration pages, "squeeze pages" that require your contact information before being allowed to proceed, even downloading a QR Code is often a gateway to providing your personal contact information (and often you do so without being told).  Let's be clear, this is NOT unique to the real estate biz, and trying to build a database is not a bad thing, but with so much identity theft, data mining, selling of databases, and so much more to be wary of, our intention was just the opposite.  Obviously, we don't require anything more than a Username and Password" to use our site, and while that might seem insignificant, let's look at an example of how that initial respect for your privacy via anonymity could be beneficial.   You have just posted a Want to Buy (WTB) or Want to Rent (WTR) citing your specific needs and a Realtor® responds to your post suggesting they may have the answer to your dreams!  Typically, before entering into a conversation like this you'll be asked (in some cases even required) to provide all of your personal contact information, and many Realtors® still use things such as Exclusive Buyer Representation addenda should the conversation go that route.  Again, nothing wrong here, but just because it's labeled common practice, that doesn't mean you should be in any way obligated to provide your information until YOU are ready to do so.  Because our unique in-mail system from which each user gets a dedicated InBox that shows ONLY their Username, you can literally begin to interview this Realtor® and ask the qualifying questions that are important to you before sharing your identity and contact information.  It can literally take only minutes to find out this person has the qualities you seek, and in many cases actually has a property that might be a potential answer for your needs.  Is it an uncommon method?  You betcha.  But if a Realtor®, or anyone else for that matter responding to your post, has an objection to you saying "Hey, I'd like to ask you a few questions before we go any further..." than perhaps that is not a person you'd want to deal with in the first place.  We always find ourselves saying that we want to put the control to manage your information where it belongs, with you...and this is just ONE example of how this could benefit you trying our website and search methods.  We know we can't compete with the "Goliath" type of real estate websites out there, nor do we want to.  But we also know that the World needs more "Davids" and fewer Goliaths.  Privacy is as precious as the contact information you're trying to protect, that's why only you should be in charge of who gets it and when.  #realestate #wanttobuy #wanttorent #buyingrealestate #sellingrealestate #realtor #propertyguerilla #onlineanonymity
